About Turbine Media
Turbine Media makes video for the energy and manufacturing sectors: training, knowledge capture and community engagement that the people who need it actually understand.
What we do now
Turbine Media is run by Mark Giddens from Traralgon, in Gippsland. Most of the work is training and safety video for power stations and industrial sites: procedures, inductions, outage work and the knowledge experienced people carry in their heads. Alongside that sits community and stakeholder engagement for energy projects, and recruitment and capability videos.
Mark works on the plant just like your workers do, with his own tickets and PPE. Editors and specialists are brought in when a project needs them, and the work goes wherever the site is, anywhere in Australia.
Turbine Media was founded as Gippsland360 in 2019 and took its current name as the work moved into energy and manufacturing.

Background
Mark picked up a camera at about 15 and has been telling stories through video for more than 30 years. Much of that was overseas as a camera operator in news, current affairs and documentary, working with international broadcasters including ZDF German TV across Asia and beyond.
That work meant difficult logistics, tight deadlines and places where safety came first. The habits stuck: plan properly, respect the people on camera, and get what you need the first time. The difference now is that the stories are about how a plant works, and how to keep that knowledge in the business.

How Mark works
The job isn't just rocking up and filming. Research, scripting and scheduling enough time on site are what make the edit work.
Scripts come from your experts, in their language, not technical jargon, so it lands with the people who need to learn it.
"Ignore the camera, talk to me." Nerves are natural, and if someone isn't comfortable being filmed, they aren't filmed.
Budget comes up early. If it's tight, you hear it straight, with options. Not every job is the right fit, and that's said plainly too.
