Getting More From Your Promotional Video

Mark Giddens · 23 June 2026

Making a promotional video is only half the job. The other half is putting it where people will actually see it.

1. Your website

Put it on your homepage or the page for the product or service it's about. It explains what you do quickly and gives visitors a reason to stay.

2. Social media

  • Facebook and Instagram for reaching locals and your community
  • LinkedIn if you sell to other businesses
  • YouTube for a home that keeps your videos easy to find

Short square or vertical clips, with captions, work best. A lot of people scroll with the sound off.

3. Email

Include a still from the video with a link in your newsletter or emails to customers. It usually gets more clicks than text alone.

4. Paid ads

If you run ads on Facebook, Instagram or Google, a short video clip often does better than a static image.

5. Events and in-store

  • Trade shows, markets and community events
  • A screen in your shop, office or waiting area
  • Presentations to customers or partners

For screens, make sure there's a version that works without sound.

Plan it before the shoot

The easiest way to get more from your video is to decide where it's going before we film. Then we capture the right shots and deliver the right versions from the same shoot.
