What a Promotional Video Costs and How Long It Takes

Before starting a promotional video, most business owners want to know what it'll cost, how long it'll take, and whether it's worth it. Here's the honest version.
What drives the cost
- Length and complexity: a short video at one location costs less than a longer one across several
- Filming time: how many hours or days, and how many locations
- The edit: graphics, captions, voiceover and music
- Versions: how many cuts you need for your website, social media and ads
- Extras: aerial footage, where it helps and is allowed
We don't publish a price list. After a quick chat you get a fixed quote in writing, so you know exactly what you're getting.
How long it takes
- Planning: about a week or two
- Filming: usually a few hours to a day
- Editing: usually two to four weeks, with two rounds of revisions
Is it worth it?
A video is worth it when it does a job: more enquiries, more bookings, more people through the door. Before you start, decide how you'll know. Watch your website enquiries, your social media reach and what customers say when they call.
Getting good value
- Plan the shoot well, so the filming time is used properly
- Get the short social media clips as part of the main edit
- Film a couple of videos in one session if you can
- Keep using the video: website, social media, email and events
Will we be the right fit?
Most of our work is for energy and industry, so we take on a small number of local business videos. If the budget and the brief don't fit, we'll say so straight away.
