What Drives the Cost and Timeline of an Industrial Recruitment Video

Mark Giddens · 21 July 2026

The two questions everyone asks before a recruitment video are "what will it cost?" and "how long will it take?". We don't publish a price list, because every project is different, but the same few things drive both, and it helps to know what they are.

What drives the cost

  • Pre-production. Working out the roles, the people, the questions and the shot list. It's the part people underestimate, and the part that makes the edit work.
  • Days on site. More locations, more roles and more interviews mean more filming time.
  • The edit. Length, graphics, captions, music and how many versions you need.
  • Extras. Aerial footage or a voiceover add value, and add time.
  • Travel. If your site is a long way from us, travel is part of the cost. It's always set out in the quote up front.

How long it takes

Every project is different, but a typical recruitment video runs like this:

  • Planning: one to two weeks, depending on how quickly we can talk to the right people
  • Filming: usually one or two days on site
  • Editing: usually two to four weeks from shoot to finished video, including two rounds of revisions

If you've got a hard deadline, like a recruitment drive or a careers expo, tell us early and we'll plan around it.

Getting the most from your budget

  • Plan several roles or locations into the same filming day
  • Ask for the short social media versions as part of the main edit, not later
  • Use the footage for job ads, your careers page and onboarding
  • Have your people and the site ready on the day, so filming time isn't wasted

How we quote

We start with a short call to understand the roles, the site and what you want the video to do. Then you get a fixed quote in writing that sets out exactly what's included. If the budget is tight, we'll say so and give you options. You choose.
